Get a jump start on Land Trust Days with the Rhode Island Forest Conservation Organization (RIFCO) and the West Greenwich Land Trust on this special, guided twilight walk at the Bugnet Tree Farm. Open to the public for educational programs such as this evening’s outing, this 69 acre property was first protected in 2008 through the purchase of a conservation easement as part of the Forest Legacy Program. This valuable forestland habitat abuts the State’s Big River Management Area.
View the results of a long history of forestry improvements in a White Pine-dominated forest where an active timber harvesting operation has been taking place. Your tour will highlight the benefits of practices that encourage diversity of trees and habitat through these forest managment practices.
Be sure to wear comfortable walking shoes and insect protection. Our walk will be approximately one hour and fifteen minutes in length.
