Please register here. \nJoin us for an early morning bird-watching paddle around Charlestown Land Trust-protected properties on Ninigret Pond. Led by Conservation Biologist Paul Miller\, this guided paddle offers a chance to observe bird species up close while learning about the role of conservation in protecting coastal habitats. \n📅 Date: Friday\, August 28th\n🕒 Time: 7am\n📍 Location: Ninigret Pond (address provided upon registration) \n⚠️ Space is limited\, so please RSVP here. \n🎟️ Open to ages 15 and up. SUMMARY:Land Trust Days 2026 Kickoff
DESCRIPTION:Registration is required. Please register on Meetup. \nJoin us for a guided hike at Spruce Acres followed by s’mores around the fire pit to kick off Land Trust Days and your weekend early! Aquidneck Island Land Trust staff will lead a guided 1-mile hike around the property and share tips on what you can do on your own property to help out native wildlife and improve water quality. We will point out native plants\, invasive species\, and highlight the gardens on site. At the end of the hike we will gather around a fire pit for s’mores! We will also have art supplies on hand at the pavilion to sketch your favorite nature scene and a nature scavenger hunt for our youngest attendees. \nLand Trust Days is a statewide\, 2 month celebration of the many special places protected by land trusts. Land trusts across the state host activities to share the special places they are protecting for everyone\, young and old to enjoy.

Register here. \nJoin The Watch Hill Conservancy for a sunset stroll in The Napatree Point Conservation Area! \nCelebrate the beauty of late summer with an unforgettable evening in the Napatree Point Conservation Area! Join us for a guided 2-mile sunset walk under the last full moon of the summer solstice. \nAs the sun sets over Little Narragansett Bay\, we’ll explore the wonder of Napatree’s nightlife that becomes active at dusk. During the walk\, we will keep an eye out for a variety of nocturnal and coastal wildlife\, including: \nBats\nNight Herons\nDogfish\nHorseshoe Crabs\nWhelks\nRabbits\nMinks\nSkunks\nDeer\nOpossum\nMigratory Birds \nOur Science Advisors and Napatree Naturalists will provide a short lecture on the migratory birds & bat activity in the Napatree Point Conservation Area — participants will even get to experience using a bat call detector! \nAs darkness falls\, we’ll gather to observe the full moon through a spotting scope. \nLight snacks and beverages will be provided! \nEvent Details \nTime: 7:00 PM – 9:00 PM\nDistance: Approximately 2 miles (moderate walking on sand and uneven terrain)\nWhat to Bring: Comfortable walking shoes\, weather-appropriate clothing\, insect repellent\, water. \nPlease utilize the free parking along Bay Street as the parking limitations are not in effect at the time of this program. \nRain will cancel these events.
