The owl walk response has been wonderful. Our walk is now filled to capacity. Hope you have signed up already, but if not, be sure to let Westerly Land Trust know you’d like to see them offer this again in the future.
The Westerly Land Trust invites you to a special evening walk. A full Harvest Moon will light the way as we look and listen for owls along the trails that wind through woodlands and a lush understory of mountain laurels. Savor a tranquil hike through the moonlit forest at a preserve which is not open to the public except for guided walks like this one. Born to Be Wild Nature Center will introduce some of their rescued owls as they discuss the natural habitat and behaviors of these magnificent creatures. We’ll set out in search of owls in the wild afterwards!
A limited number of flashlights will be provided. Bring your binoculars and headlamp! This hike is considered easy and level. For all hikes be sure to wear shoes appropriate for natural conditions that may include rocks, roots and mud along the paths. In warmer months, come prepared with insect repellant for your comfort, but it is also recommended year round for prevention of Lyme disease.
*Space is limited. Pre-registration is required. Indicating your attendance on Meetup or Facebook does not reserve your place. Don’t be disappointed, please contact Stacey to reserve your spot today! (401) 315-2610 or email Education@westerlylandtrust.org
