The Aquidneck Land Trust will open Miantonomi Memorial Tower to the public every Sunday from 11 am to 2 pm through September 2. Come to the highest point in Newport to view the city and Newport Harbor. At 30 acres, Miantonomi is the largest city-owned park in Newport and is conserved permanently through ALT. The site has a rich history and provides large, undisturbed woodlands in the densely developed North End of Newport.
Explore the park’s hiking trails after you climb the tower and enjoy one of the best spots for birding in Newport! The tower itself will be open between 11 am to 2 pm. You may come and go at your leisure to explore the rest of the park. Stop by for 10 minutes to climb the spiral staircase to the top of the tower or hike the trails for an hour! An ALT staff member will be on hand to answer questions and talk about the park.
