Join the Sakonnet Preservation Association in celebrating the Autumn Equinox on a beautiful coastal property in Little Compton.
On this walk, Rhode Island herbalist and herb farmer Rachel Playe, of Radia Herbs will connect you with your surroundings by pointing out the wild medicinal herbs growing on the PT Marvell Preserve. Rachel will help you identify these plants and describe their purposes and healing qualities.
The PT Marvell Preserve consists of maritime woodland, coastal thicket, and upland meadows. The acquisition of this property was the result of a cooperative effort between The Nature Conservancy, the Little Compton Agricultural Conservancy Trust, the Rhode Island Department of Environmental Management and the Sakonnet Preservation Association.
This is a fairly flat, easy walk. There are no restrooms available.
Adults and families are welcome, but please leave dogs at home.
This event will be canceled for heavy rain. Register with Sakonnet Preservation Association to be notified of the cancellation.
