The Charlestown Land Trust and the Charlestown Conservation Commission invite you to the opening of the Patricia Sprague Forest Preserve. Join them on a walkabout of this recently acquired property along the Pawcatuck River. On the 27 acres of conserved land, walk through oak forests and former agricultural land bordered by old apple trees. Pass kettle ponds and indicators of long ago glaciers. Look and listen for resident wildlife: turkeys, deer, wood ducks, hawks, pheasants, and songbirds.
This event is rain or shine. Participants should wear sturdy shoes and bring water. There are no restrooms at this site. Dogs on leash are welcome.
