Join the Tiverton Open Space Commission, The Nature Conservancy, and Tiverton Land Trust for an exploration of the varied habitats at the Pocasset Ridge Conservation Area. From the cardinal flowers in the lowlands, to overlooking treetops from the “cliff,” this walk is sure to be a delight!
The property contains 600 acres of rugged forest preserved by the joint efforts of The Nature Conservancy, Tiverton Open Space Commission, and Tiverton Land Trust. We’ll stroll through a delightfully accessible wetland, make the climb to oak-huckleberry barrens on the rocky highlands, explore a rich basin of towering oaks, then make our way to the “cliff” overlooking a sheer, ninety-foot drop to a red maple-yellow birch swamp.
Please make sure you are well-prepared for rugged trails, a bit of a climb, and an invigorating experience in East Bay’s wildest forest – bring water, bug spray, and comfortable walking/hiking shoes. This hike is not intended for those under the age of 10.
