Join the Narrow River Land Trust and Nick Ernst, Wildlife Biologist for the U.S. Fish and Wildlife Service, for a salt marsh walk as part of the annual “Gansett Days” celebration!
Nick will lead us on a tour of Garrison House Acres, a coastal preserve of the Narrow River Land Trust. Learn about the role salt marshes play in the life cycles of plants and animals. Learn what is happening in salt marshes today, why they are changing, and what measures are being taken to preserve them. There are many things to see and observe, but most of all, a stroll through the salt marsh with a knowledgeable guide is a lovely way to spend the morning!
This event is free and suitable for all ages. Bring binoculars and wear close-toed shoes, socks, and long pants because poison ivy and ticks may be part of the tour too.
*Please RSVP ahead of time to office@narrowriverlandtrust.org*
In the event of bad weather, participants will be emailed with any changes to the event.
