Location: Scituate
Join the Scituate Land Trust and the Gentian Garden Society for a walk through Esek Hopkins Park, focused on a wooded area subject to a timber salvage operation later this year.
Learn about how thinning tree stands and removing dead trees can improve the health of the forest and the safety and enjoyment of visitors. The Town of Scituate leases the property, which is owned by the State and managed by the local Conservation Commission and Land Trust. The walk is jointly sponsored by the Scituate Land Trust and the Gentian Garden Society.
All participants must wear a face covering. Be sure to wear comfortable walking/hiking shoes and bring bug spray. This event is FREE and suitable for all ages. Leashed dogs welcomed.
Severe weather will cancel this event. Updates regarding weather will be posted to the Meetup event.
*NOTE: This event has a larger group size limit because there will be multiple walk leaders that will split the group if more than 15 attendees. All attendees (including guests – limit 2) must be pre-registered on this MeetUp event.
