Come learn about this prize conservation area near the Scituate Reservoir! Together we will cross the new footbridge on a leisurely walk on the perimeter trail around the fields and a brief loop through the woods. Great walk for birders! The annual bird count consistently tracks nearly 40 species of birds.
Managed primarily as a grassland bird sanctuary, Lawton Farm has been improved recently through a Department of Environmental Management grant. The new entrance kiosk carries educational information and features bird illustrations colored on ceramic tiles by children from the Hope after school program. This walk is jointly sponsored by the Scituate Land Trust and the Gentian Garden Club.
All participants must wear a face covering. Be sure to wear comfortable walking/hiking shoes and bring bug spray. This event is FREE and suitable for all ages. Leashed dogs welcomed.
Severe weather will cancel this event. Updates regarding weather will be sent out to attendees who have registered here: https://www.eventbrite.com/e/lawton-farm-walk-tickets-119640950303.
