Join the North Smithfield Land Trust for a guided walk on the newly opened Booth Pond Conservation Area, which lies within North Smithfield and Woonsocket. This wildlife conservation area totals 130 acres and includes the pond, surrounding wetlands and upland forest.
The first half of the walk to see the pond is of moderate difficulty, and for those not interested in continuing further, we will return to the trailhead. The second half of the walk has a few sections of somewhat challenging uphill/downhill terrain and a walking stick may be helpful. You will find a scenic overview of the surrounding area at a lookout point at the higher elevation.
Be sure to wear comfortable walking shoes and bring bug spray and water. This event is FREE and suitable for all ages! No registration necessary.
Although leashed dogs are normally permitted on the trails (all pet waste removed), it may be best to leave them at home for this group activity.
Rain Date: None. Rain/thunderstorms will cancel the walk. Updates will be shared on the Facebook & Meetup events.
Questions? Post in the Facebook or Meetup event!
Meeting Place/Directions: Trailhead is located within the Dowling Village Shopping Center, North Smithfield. Park near the ALDI store, and walk down toward The Club apartment complex (2 Booth Pond Way, North Smithfield, RI). Green trailhead sign will be off to your right.
