Join Borders Farm Preservation for a guided trail hike, followed by a free outdoor concert by the Providence Brigade Band, a Civil War period brass band!
The band members dress in military uniforms of the period and play original music of the time on instruments from the Civil War era. The outdoor concert will be held under shade trees on the lawn of the historic George Phillips 1840’s farmhouse (indoor farmhouse tours will not be held this year).
The guided hikes begin at 11:00 AM and Providence Brigade Band Concert begins at 2:00 PM.
The guided hikes will weave through trails along the pasture edges, which are easy hiking. Trails through the forest are moderate. Trails vary in length from 1/2 mile to 2-3 miles.
Port-a-Jon is available at the farmhouse. We recommend bringing drinking water, sunscreen, sunhat and your comfy lawn chair for the concert. You are invited to bring your own picnic lunch and enjoy the farmhouse front lawn between the hikes and the concert. This event is FREE and suitable for all ages! Friendly, leashed dogs welcome.
Rain Date: Sunday, September 26. Updates will be shared on the Facebook & Meetup event pages.
