Join the Scituate Land Trust for an afternoon walk at Esek Hopkins Park on Saturday, September 10, at 1:00 p.m. Learn about how thinning tree stands and removing dead trees can improve the health of the forest and the safety and enjoyment of visitors.
The Town of Scituate leases the property, which is owned by the State and managed by the local Conservation Commission and Land Trust. We will be walking for about 40 minutes at a moderate pace, so be sure to wear comfortable walking shoes and bring bug spray.
This event is FREE and suitable for all ages. Well mannered leashed pets are welcome.
Come early and join our Trail Improvements and Reforestation Kickoff with remarks by Sen. Jack Reed at 12:30 p.m.
The park entrance is on Battey Meetinghouse Road, just south of the intersection with Danielson Pike, immediately opposite the State Police Barracks in North Scituate
