The Coventry Land Trust and the RI Mycological Society are hosting a Fungal Foray at 10 AM, August 31st, at Stella Hall Conservation Area!
At the foray, participants can expect to meet at the trailhead at 10, be split into fungal-finding teams, search for fungi, and return to identify challenging species and celebrate all the findings. Expect foraying to take 1.5-2 hours, and another 0.5-1 hour for identifying if you want to do some identification work! You are welcome to walk the trails before and after as much as you wish.
Please be aware that this is not a foraging walk! This is to document species and their ecology for scientific research.
Parking is available across from 528 Phillips Hill Road, in a dirt lot about 100 feet south of the trailhead. Meet at the trailhead. Bring bug spray, water, sunscreen, and a curiosity for nature.
