Land Trust Days: THANKSGIVING EDITION
Join Tiverton Land Trust for a guided walk with Garry Plunkett. Learn about Pardon Gray Preserve’s history and hike the beautiful trails that surround the open farm field. Hike will begin at 10:00 AM and will take about two hours. Hiking is moderate with some easy fields and some uphill, rocky trails.
Pardon Gray Preserve is the reason the Tiverton Land Trust was formed in 1996. A dedicated group of Tiverton residents worked to save this 229-acre farm from the development of 88 residential houses. Pardon Gray and his family, who farmed the fields for most of his life, are buried within the property’s historic cemetery.
This event is FREE (but donations are welcome!) and suitable for all ages. Leashed dogs welcome (Dog waste must be picked up and carried out).
We will hike in any weather except in more severe rain or dangerous weather. Check the Facebook or Meetup event pages for any updates.
