Please register here. \nLearn the ins and outs of Dr. Sarah Deckel’s avian research with Audubon with the opportunity to gain hands-on experience with field-related bird research. The first hour will be a lecture with background information about the technique in question\, with relevant research studies mentioned and examples of how scientists use this technique in the field. During the second hour\, YOU will be the scientist! Follow a protocol and analyze field data as though you were conducting your own study. Topics are nest dissection\, sound analysis\, and feather structure. DESCRIPTION:This event is posted on behalf of the Bristol Land Conservation Trust. Please purchase tickets here. \nCelebrate 40 Years of Conservation \nThe Bristol Land Conservation Trust invites you to celebrate its 40th Anniversary on Saturday\, October 10\, 2026\, from 6 to 9 p.m. at the Audubon Nature Center and Aquarium\, 1401 Hope Street\, Bristol\, RI. \nThe event will feature a live Barred Owl presentation by Audubon staff\, deep-sky telescope viewing of planets\, constellations\, and star clusters hosted by Skyscrapers\, Inc. the Amateur Astronomical Society of Rhode Island\, and full access to the natural history museum. Food will be provided by Common Pub Catering\, with beer and wine served by Two Gals Cocktails. \nTickets are free for BLCT members. Nonmember tickets are $25 for individuals or $40 for two people\, and include a complimentary one-year BLCT membership. Tickets must be purchased in advance by clicking the Donate button on the Land Trust’s homepage at BristolLandConservationTrust.weebly.com or by mailing a check to BLCT\, PO Box 413\, Bristol\, RI 02809.
