Dear RI Land Trust Council Supporters & Friends,
Thanks to your incredible advocacy efforts over the last five months — including postcards, emails, phone calls, and in-person testimony at the State House — we are excited to announce a significant victory for conservation in Rhode Island. The FY 2025 State Budget includes an additional $13 million in the Green Bond to be on the ballot in November. This provides $5 million in funding for farmland conservation, $3 million for state open space, and $5 million for forest stewardship on state lands. This win for conservation is a testament to our collective voice and dedication to preserving Rhode Island’s natural resources.
Your support has been instrumental in making the Green Bond Greener, ensuring that our state’s natural landscapes are protected and enhanced for future generations. Thank you for your unwavering commitment to our environment and our community.
I want to also express our sincerest appreciation to the “Make the Green Bond Greener” sponsors, Senator Lou DiPalma and Representative Megan Cotter. Thank you for your leadership on this important issue!!!
With gratitude,
Kate Sayles, Executive Director
