Join Us for the Land Trust Networking Series!

The Rhode Island Land Trust Council invites you to a special series of networking events bringing together land trust professionals, board members, and volunteers! These events are an opportunity to connect with your peers, share ideas, and address key challenges in the areas of land stewardship, attracting and retaining volunteers, and the unique challenges and opportunities faced by municipal land trusts. Each event will focus on different topics and provide an opportunity to network with peers in a relaxed setting.

December 3rd: Focus on Stewardship
Ragged Island Brewery, Portsmouth
5:30 PM – 8:00 PM

The stewardship and monitoring of our protected lands have become more critical than ever. We are all facing similar challenges around building the resources and support needed to sustain these stewardship efforts. We are also learning about new opportunities and innovations that can help us with stewardship – from improved mapping and monitoring technologies, to funding available for invasive controls. Join us for an evening focused on land stewardship, where you will connect with peers and enjoy local brews while sharing stewardship strategies and successes!

December 10th: Focus on Volunteer Needs
South Kingstown Land Trust Barn, South Kingstown
5:30 PM – 8:00 PM

Nearly 75% of all land trusts in Rhode Island are all-volunteer organizations, and ALL of our land trusts engage volunteers to help us accomplish our missions. This event will focus on volunteers from volunteer recruitment, to retention, to keeping those volunteers happy and engaged. Whether you’re looking to grow your volunteer base or have valuable insights to share, this is the perfect space to learn and connect with fellow land trust peers.

December 12th: Municipal Land Trust Networking
Scituate Community Center, Scituate
5:30 PM – 8:00 PM

Did you know Rhode Island is the only state in the country with municipal land trusts? These land trusts play a crucial role in helping cities and towns make key decisions about the conservation and stewardship of local lands. However, these municipal land trusts face distinct challenges—from raising funds and conserving lands to managing and stewarding land trust properties.

Join us for this special networking event designed specifically for Rhode Island’s municipal land trusts. This gathering will provide a valuable opportunity to connect with peers, share experiences, and brainstorm solutions to the unique hurdles municipal land trusts face. Whether you’re looking for new ideas to strengthen your funding efforts or insights into how other municipalities are conserving and managing their lands, this event is for you.
